Meet The Doctors
At Four Corners Dental Care, we think everyone deserves a beautiful and healthy smile.
You hear the term dental care often, but you probably haven’t given much thought to what it means. It is typically used interchangeably with terms such as dentistry or dental treatment. However, in our office we mean dental care very literally. We are a dental practice. We also care – and that is what truly sets our office apart.
George P. Moutevelis, DMD, MAGD
George P. Moutevelis grew up in Ipswich, MA. As the son of two professional educators, he acquired a love of learning early in life. This, combined with his natural passion for helping others, led him to a career in healthcare. He found his forte in dentistry, a field where human compassion can make a world of difference for the patient.
Dr. Moutevelis began his educational journey at Exeter Academy, graduating when he was 17 years old. He immediately went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree with Special Distinction in Biology from Boston University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then attended University of Pennsylvania School Of Dental Medicine where he earned his DMD degree.
Due to his outstanding academic performance, Dr. Moutevelis was among the ten percent of his graduating class admitted to the General Practice Residency Post Graduate Program with Suburban General Hospital. Just over a year after completing residency, he purchased this practice from a fellow Penn State alumnus, Dr. George Velis.
Of course, Dr. Moutevelis’ thirst for knowledge didn’t stop with the opening of his own practice. In 1989 he earned the designation of Fellow with the AGD (Academy of General Dentistry). The eligibility requirements for this award include hundreds of hours of continuing education and learning advances skills in 16 separate dental disciplines before completing a rigorous exam. Continuing his pursuit of excellence, he went on to earn the highest honor of AGD Master in 2007. This required over 1000 hours of continuing education, including hundreds of hours of hands on training.
His commitment to excellence in dentistry and in customer service has earned the Consumer Research Council of America’s coveted “America’s Top Dentists” award each consecutive year since 2003. In 2008, Dr. Moutevelis celebrated his 25th anniversary of practicing in Woburn, MA.
Dr. Moutevelis and his wife, Kristin reside in lovely Ipswich, Massachusetts. They are the proud parents of four kids, Alexa, Peter, Olivia, and Michael. When he isn’t busy caring for your smile, Dr. Moutevelis enjoys coaching and watching his kids in football, basketball, baseball, soccer, and Lacrosse. He is also an avid skier, boater, political junkie, patriots fan, and unabashed beach-bum.
Dr. John Govostes
Dr. John Govostes is a board certified periodontist and a diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology.
He completed both his dental school training and periodontal residency at Tufts University School of Dental medicine in Boston and previously graduated Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. degree in Biology. Dr. Govostes is an active member of the ADA and Massachusetts Dental Society. He also is a guest lecturer at the annual Yankee Dental Congress. Dr. Govostes is also committed to volunteer projects, including a dental mission to Quito, Ecuador.
Dr. Govostes is a North Shore native, growing up with his family in Ipswich, MA where he attended Ipswich High school and was a captain of the basketball team. He is active with the Greek Orthodox Church and enjoys his summers boating and the beaches of Crane’s and Plum Island.
Dr. Govostes specializes in the treatment of periodontal disease and tooth replacement with dental implants, including single as well as full mouth restorations. He is dedicated to providing his patients with the latest technology and advances in dentisrty, as well as making their experiences as gentle and friendly as possible.
MEET THE TEAM
Denise
Denise earned her Associates of Science in Dental Hygiene from Middlesex Community College in 2008 and her Expanded Function Dental Assisting Certificate from Indiana University Dental School in 1999. She brings over 2 decades of varied experience to the office.
“I believe in treating my patients as individuals with unique needs. I take care to ensure each of my patients has the best experience possible”.
When not in the office, Denise enjoys taking her dog out for walks and reading the newest bestseller book as well as being a mom, a sister, and an aunt.
Sheena
Sheena has 9+ years experience in the dental hygiene field. She graduated in 2008 from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Sciences. She has been with our team since 2014. Working together to provide the best possible care for patients is her favorite part about being a member of Four Corners Dental Team.
“I enjoy building personal relationships with my patients that are centered around educating and motivating them towards an optimum state of oral health”.
When Sheena is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and running outdoors.
